Denis Kozhukhin signs exclusive recording agreement with Pentatone

It is announced today that Denis Kozhukhin has signed an exclusive recording agreement with Pentatone. Kozhukhin’s first disc for Pentatone will be Grieg Piano Concerto and Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 with the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin and Vassily Sinaisky, which will be recorded in Berlin next month. Other projects are currently under discussion and will be announced at a later date.

This announcement comes on the day on which Kozhukhin returns for a recital at the Cologne Philharmonie and ahead of a season which includes recitals at the Concertgebouw’s Master Pianists Series, Vienna Konzerthaus, Lucerne Festival, the Southbank Centre’s International Piano Series, Boston Celebrity Series and Wigmore Hall. As a soloist, Kozhukhin has quickly established a formidable reputation and has already appeared with many of the world’s top orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia, Mariinsky, Philharmonia and West Eastern Divan Orchestras, amongst others.

Recitals in Liverpool, Paris and Cologne

Denis Kozhukhin returns to Liverpool this month to give his debut recital on 16 September at St George’s Hall. He also returns the following week for a recital at the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris. At both venues, the programme will include Beethoven Sonatas Nos. 14 & 17, Debussy Préludes Nos. 2, 6 & 10 from Book I, three Berio Encores (Luftklavier, Feuerklavier and Wasserklavier) and Bartók Out of Doors.

On 30 September, Kozhukhin returns to give a recital at the Cologne Philharmonie, where he gave his debut recital in October 2013. This recital will include Haydn Keyboard Sonata in D major, Brahms Theme and Variations in D minor, Berg Piano Sonata and Bartók Out of Doors. After the interval, Kozhukhin will perform Haydn Keyboard Sonata in B minor and, lastly, Prokofiev Piano Sonata No.8 in B-flat major. Listen to Kozhukhin’s recordings of these Sonatas on Spotify.

Salzburg Festival with West Eastern Divan Orchestra and Daniel Barenboim

Having debuted with the orchestra on tour in Buenos Aires in July, Kozhukhin returns to the West Eastern Divan Orchestra this month to perform at the Salzburg Festival on 13 August. Performing under the baton of Daniel Barenboim, Kozhukhin will be the soloist in Pierre Boulez Sur Incises at the Mozarteum Salzburg.

West Eastern Divan Orchestra debut

This July, Denis Kozhukhin makes his debut with the West Eastern Divan Orchestra. Kozhukhin will give two performances of Boulez Sur Incises under the baton of Daniel Barenboim at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires on 24 and 25 July. For more information and tickets, click here.

Denis Kozhukhin makes debut with Chicago Symphony Orchestra

Denis Kozhukhin makes his debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra this month with four performances of Ravel Piano Concerto for the Left Hand at the Symphony Center under the baton of Ludovic Morlot (4, 5, 6 & 7 June 2015).

Later in the month, Kozhukhin returns to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam to perform Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor with conductor Gustavo Gimeno and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra on 28 June.

Denis Kozhukhin makes his debut with BBC Symphony Orchestra

Denis Kozhukhin gives his debut performance with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican Centre on 23 May 2015. Conducted by the orchestra’s Chief Conductor, Sakari Oramo, Kozhukhin will perform Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No.4.

Kozhukhin gives another debut performance on 8 May with the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast under the baton of Jamie Phillips, when he will perform Prokofiev Piano Sonata No.3.

On 31 May, Kozhukhin travels to Kalamazoo, Michigan, for the Gilmore Piano Festival. The performance will include Haydn Piano Sonata in F major, Brahms 7 Fantasies and Prokofiev Piano Sonata No.8.

Denis Kozhukhin makes his debut with OSESP conducted by Marin Alsop

Denis Kozhukhin makes his debut with the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo performing Chopin Piano Concerto No.1 under the baton of Marin Alsop on 16, 17 and 18 April. Kozhukhin will give all three performances of the concerto at the Sala São Paulo and will return to the Sala São Paulo on 19 April for a solo recital. The recital will feature Brahms 7 Fantasias, Op.116, Liszt Venezia e Napoli, Liszt Bénédiction de Dieu dans la solitude and Prokofiev Piano Sonata No.8.

Later in April, Kozhukhin returns to Berlin for two concerts at the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival at the Jewish Museum Berlin. On 22 April, Kozhukhin will perform Schumann Piano Trio No. 2 alongside Kathrin Rabus and Alexander Knyazev, and on 23 April he will perform Schubert Fantasia in C major with violinist Michael Barenboim.
