Denis Kozhukhin makes Southbank Centre debuts as part of The Rest Is Noise festival
This month, Denis travels to London for two debuts, both of which take place at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. On Friday 10 May, he performs for the first time in Southbank Centre’sInternational Chamber Music Season with Renaud Capuçon, Gautier Capuçon and Jörg Widmann. The sell-out concert opens with Shostakovich’s Piano Trio No.2 in E minor and concludes with Messiaen’s Quatuor pour la fin du temps.
On Sunday 12 May, Denis makes his debut in the International Piano Series when he performs Prokofiev’s ‘War Sonatas’ (Nos. 6, 7 and 8) as part of the Southbank Centre’s The Rest is Noisefestival. Having already performed these works in Tokyo earlier this year, Kozhukhin’s debut recording with Onyx Classics with the same repertoire has just received a five star review in the June edition of BBC Music Magazine.
